Parents: Protect Your Kids From Porn—Or You’ll Have to Protect Them From Each Other

A 12-year-old boy repeatedly rapes his sister, under 9, after becoming addicted to hardcore porn. Parents: you HAVE to protect your kids from porn.

Last week a court in Cheltenham, England ruled in the case of a 12-year-old boy who repeatedly raped his sister who is “under the age of 9” after becoming “fascinated with hardcore pornography he found on the internet,” the Daily Mail reports. The court was also told that the boy used search terms to specifically find incest porn before assaulting his sister six times in the summer of 2015, in her own bedroom.

Because the boy (now 14) is underage, and to protect his sister’s identity, he cannot be named, but the court ruled that he would continue living in a “supervised treatment unit” and would not be allowed to have contact with anyone under age 16 for five years, and can have no contact with his sister.

I cannot IMAGINE the harm that poor girl has suffered. I only pray she is getting just as intense treatment and therapy as her brother is. My heart breaks for her and I hope she can emerge mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy from this assault at the hands of her own flesh and blood. I also fear for more innocent children, because as the prosecutor in this case said, “Cases of this nature will increasingly come before the court because of the access young people now have to hard core pornography.” I COMPLETELY agree with him and am quite sure that “cases of this nature” are currently happening all over in societies like ours where kids have easy internet access and parents who aren’t monitoring it closely or installing filters.

Here’s the deal, moms and dads. If you don’t filter the crap (literally) out of your Internet and restrict and monitor your kids’ Internet usage CLOSELY, you may not ONLY have to end up protecting your kids from outside predators, you may have to end up PROTECTING ONE OF YOUR KIDS FROM ANOTHER OF YOUR KIDS. Sounds crazy, but it is literally the parent in this scenario’s REALITY.

I have a 12-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter, just like these British parents did when this crime occurred. I love them both fiercely. I love them with the same amount of affection. But if one starts RAPING another? Sexually victimizing his SIBLING? I would have to act. I would have to choose the safety of one child over the comfort of another. Can you imagine making that choice?

These British parents are not unique. This is undoubtedly happening to other families, and will continue to happen, unless we get serious about protecting our kids from porn.

But it would not have happened if this child’s Internet access had been filtered, restricted, and monitored.

Moms and dads, we have put the technology in our kids’ hands that can ruin THEIR lives, others’ lives, and destroy ENTIRE families.

Please, please, please, be men and women enough to remove and restrict that technology. Protect your children from porn, so you don’t have to protect the world from THEM.
