Carrie Underwood

Singing superstar Carrie Underwood made two big announcements on Instagram this morning. In a video with a very hint-full caption, Underwood announced that she will be embarking on a tour starting in May 2019 to support her new album coming out next month, Cry Pretty. You can check out the full announcement below. (It is in three separate videos so you’ll have to swipe to see them all!)

“You might be wondering or asking, ‘Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?’ Well…yay! Mike and Isaiah and I are absolute over the moon and excited to be adding a little fish to our pond,” she said. She made the announcement while the camera zoomed out to show balloons announcing “B-A-B-Y.”

That’s right, not only does she have a new album dropping and a tour coming up, Carrie Underwood also has a new BABY coming up, her second with husband Mike Fisher. The couple’s son, Isaiah Michael Fisher is, three.

You could see the joy on Carrie Underwood’s face as she made the announcement; after a rough last year including a facial injury and rumors of divorce, it’s definitely time to see the Underwood-Fisher family through to happier times.

This has been a dream come true with the album and baby news and all that stuff,” she said in her video. “We are just so excited and just so glad that you guys can share in this with us and be a part of this with us. I love you guys. We’ll see you on the road in 2019. Have a great day!”

Underwood didn’t reveal how far along she was in the pregnancy, the baby’s due date, or whether or not she knows her new little one’s gender. Carrie is 35, when doctors officially characterize a pregnancy as “geriatric” or “advanced maternal age,” so who knows if she and Fisher will have more kids. An interview with her in the most recent issue of Redbook magazine, published before the pregnancy announcement, has her reflecting on the potential size of their family.

“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” she said. “We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older.”

Whatever Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher decide about children in the future, I wish them all the greatest happiness with this new bundle of joy. A child is a gift, no matter what! Congratulations, Carrie!
