If there’s one person making the most of the dumpster fire that is 2020, it’s Bindi Irwin. The 22-year-old kicked off the pandemic by tying the knot to long-time beau, Chandler Powell in a private impromptu ceremony back in March at her family’s zoo.

March 25th 2020 ❤️ We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now. We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding. This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe. We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos. Right now we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history. Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens. Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love. Thankfully, since we all live at Australia Zoo as a family, we could be there for each other. To everyone reading this – stay safe, social distance and remember LOVE WINS!
Then, in August, Bindi took to Instagram with the exciting news that they were expecting their first child.
“Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021,” she wrote.
Since first sharing the exciting news while still in her first trimester, Bindi has been very candid in wanting to share her journey to motherhood with her fans. Last month, she revealed that their baby wildlife warrior is a GIRL!
Over the weekend, Bindi shared her first bump pic, and it’s giving us all the feels!
In a side view taken at home, the mommy-to-be is sporting a black tank top and her signature khaki work pants.
Like she has with all of her pregnancy updates so far, Bindi told us how the size of her growing little girl compares to that of an animal. In this caption, she said her baby is the size of a mountain pygmy-possum. Couldn’t tell you what that is, but a quick google search suggests she’s the size of a small mouse.
Bindi also assured that her baby girl is growing strong and healthy.
“Baby girl is doing great,” she wrote. “Every time we get an ultrasound she’s incredibly energetic and always moving around.”
And of course, the sweet dad that he is, Chandler Powell was quick to share some love for both of his girls in the comments.
We can’t wait to continue following along with the pregnancy and birth of the late Steve Irwin’s first grandbaby in 2021.
