“June 22nd we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary,” she wrote. “25 years!! Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and, in humility, our willingness to trust Him and allow those who’ve gone before us and those who haven’t but know God’s Word, to speak into us.”

The actress said she’s been grateful for every bit of “solid advice and encouragement in between.”

Candace shared a series of photos from the couples’ anniversary getaway to California’s Pebble Beach, where they spent time at the spa, and wore matching sweatshirts featuring their last name embroidered on them as well as the words “Est. in 1996,” a nod to their wedding date.

“I’m often asked for marriage advice,” Candace continued her caption. “What’s the secret? Lord knows I will never write a book about it because we are still learning every year, every day. Grace. Grace. Grace. Communication (which is so important but difficult when one partner isn’t willing.) Sex. Laughter. Patience. Lots of patience. Love (a verb. which must be put into action, it’s not just a feeling.)”

“No marriage is picture perfect,” she assured. “Not one. And certainly not ours. But through thick and thin, ups and downs, God has blessed us tremendously with guidance and perseverance. I believe God is the secret sauce.”

Candace says she has more love for Valeri today than she did on June 22, 1996, and she knows his love for her is reflective of that as well.

She closed her post by once again praising the Lord, and reflecting on the few days they spent at the spa, walking the golf course, and eating incredible food at one of their “favorite places on earth.”
