Boy, Carrie Underwood has had quite the year. She released her sixth studio album, announced she’s going on tour, and revealed she and husband Mike Fisher were expecting baby number two after suffering three grueling miscarriages.
On Monday, the couple welcomed their newest bundle of joy into the world and took to Instagram to introduce him with some super sweet photos with mom, dad, and three-year-old big brother, Isaiah.
Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday…his mom, dad and big brother couldn’t…
“Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday…his mom, dad, and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle!” she wrote. “Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired, and our lives are forever changed. Life is good….”
Underwood first announced her pregnancy back in August on social media with a video to fans about her upcoming 2019 tour.
“Mike, Isaiah, and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another fish to our pond,” she told Glamour Magazine. “This has been a dream come true with the album and baby news. We’re just so excited and glad you guys can share this with us and be a part of this with us. Love you guys. We will see you on the road in 2019!”
But becoming a family of four was not an easy feat. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the 35-year-old detailed just how rough the last two years had been on her body. Not only had she taken a nasty fall on her front steps that led to over 50 stitches and reconstructive surgeries, but she had also felt life in her womb three times, only to have those lives robbed too soon.
“Why Lord do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid?” Underwood said of her desperate cry out to the Lord. “Like what is this? Shut the door…do something…either shut the door or let me have a kid.”
It was just days after that plea when the singer went to the doctor thinking she had once again miscarried a baby, only to find out she was perfectly fine and pregnant. God had opened the door.
We’re celebrating with this sweet family of four this week as they soak up all of this rainbow baby bliss with sweet little Jacob.
Our God is good, and He gives good gifts, friends.
