Joanna Gaines Announces New Children’s Book She Wrote With Her Kids

Is there anything Joanna Gaines can’t do?

It’s not enough that she has the design aesthetic of a farmhouse wizard, a couple of books ranging from cooking, to design to autobiographies, several brick and mortar store locations in Waco, Texas as a part of her growing empire that is all things Magnolia, a kids clothing line with Matilda Jane, a wallpaper line, a furniture line, an everyday collection at everyone’s favorite one-stop-shop—Target, and lusciously long hair to boot.

Now, Joanna Gaines—while raising five kids, and running what seems to be 97  business endeavors—has announced that she and the kids have been working on none other than a children’s book!

The design queen took to Instagram on Monday to let fans in on a little project she and her five kiddos have been collaborating on.

“We wrote this children’s book together to tell the story of our journey in the garden – a story of trying and failing and trying again and never giving up,” She wrote in her post. “We hope it inspires you and your little ones to get outside, get your hands dirty, and grow something great!”

The Gaineses have been known (and admired) for their farm-life parenting since first making their debut on HGTV in 2013. Fixer Upper fans were quick to realize that none of Joanna’s designs included a television.

She later revealed that their family doesn’t even own a television, and instead go over to a friend’s house every Tuesday night when THEIR TV SHOW was on, to watch the episode.

That being said, they’ve made living life on the Magnolia farm all that one could ever need with cows, goats, cats, dogs, and chickens. Chip and Joanna have cultivated a place where their kids have things to do outside, but also WANT to do things outside, more than they want to be in front of a screen.

“We Are The Gardeners” is a perfect glimpse into the life of the Gaines children, who have joined forces with their mom to encourage other kids to get outside, try your best, and when you fail, try again.

You can pre-order “We Are The Gardeners” now at, or pick up your copy when it comes out on March 26th!
