Kristen Bell Shares Heartfelt Message for Dax Shepard Four Months After Relapse

Dax Shepard

When it comes to celebrities who are an open book, there’s no greater pair than Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard.

The two have been historically transparent about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Kristen has often shared about her ongoing battles with depression and anxiety, while Dax has been open about his past addictions.

In September, Dax Shepard revealed on his podcast, Armchair Expert, that he relapsed after 16 years of sobriety following an ATV accident that led him to taking opioids.

In October, Kristen gave an update on her husband’s recovery during her appearance on “Ellen,” saying that ultimately, she’s grateful that Dax was honest and sought out accountability when he recognized he was spiraling.

“He’s addicted to evolving,” she said. “He was like, ‘I don’t want to risk this family and I did, so let’s put new things in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again.’”

Kristen said she’s proud of her husband and will continue to stand by him because he’s “very, very worth it.”

This week, The Good Place actress took to Instagram with more kind words about her hubs, in celebration of his 46th birthday!

“It’s my favorite day of the year! When I get to celebrate the birth of my very favorite human on earth, and spoil him till he rots!” she wrote Sunday alongside a low-key selfie of the two of them at home.
