Jennifer Garner has officially sent all three of her kids back to school this week, and after 18 months of this difficult new normal, the 49-year-old is counting all of her blessings.
“The school year starts in dribs and drabs, but today’s the real deal for my family—we are back,” she wrote in a post on Wednesday featuring a windy, waterside selfie of the mother of three.
The school year starts in dribs and drabs, but today’s the real deal for my family—we are back. 3/3 masked, 2/3 vaxxed…
Garner said all three kids are masked, the two that are eligible have been vaccinated, and every one of them are “eager, tentative, bold, vulnerable and—as far as I can tell—smiling under the 3-ply.”
She went on to share a list of “thank you’s”—gratitude to the unsung heroes that are making things work for students during these unprecedented times.
“Thank you teachers, thank you administrators, thank you school staff—for being on the receiving end of a year and a half of feelings (kids’ and parents’)—big and loud, quiet and deep. Thank you science for getting us this far and this much closer to health and freedom. Thank you for moms in your corner and gallows humor and the sun that rises, no matter what.”
She closed the post with a prayerful plea: “And please, God, hold us in the palm of your hands.”
Thousands flooded the comments with echoed praises and solidarity, while several teachers shared their gratitude for her message.
Wherever you are mama, and whatever this school year looks like for you and your littles, may you remember that you are not alone.
