If there’s one under-rated Hollywood actor I genuinely wish I could be friends with, it’s Nick Offerman.
Better known as the government-hating, privacy protecting, man of all men–Ron Swanson, on the hit TV series, Parks and Recreation–Nick Offerman’s personality and acting style are one in the same.
I don’t know if it’s the comedic factor of Ron Swanson being known for despising all things healthy, or simply Nick Offerman himself, but this Funny or Die video is everything we need in our lives today.
Funny or Die is a YouTube channel known for featuring well-known comedians and celebrities in comedy videos. Founded by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Judd Apatow, Funny Or Die aims to please with hilarious videos that provide a good laugh.
Nick Offerman’s “Pizza Farm” is no exception.
The two minute video clip, which was created in partnership with the American Heart Association, features Nick indulging in “fresh pepperoni straight from mother earth,” and “orchards of taquito trees.”
On the Pizza Farm, “hot, moist sloppy joe’s are produced year-round, thanks to the cola used to water them.”
Throughout the video, the former “Director of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Department” pokes fun at the idea of making kids eat healthy foods. And while the video itself was made to give viewers a good laugh, it carries an underlying purpose that we can all get on board with.
All satire aside, it’s important that our growing kids get the right nutrition. Using widespread platforms like Funny or Die, The American Heart Association has set out to educate, inform, and spark change in the way we petition for healthier school lunches.
As we gear up for another school year, there’s no better time to rethink the way we do school lunches.
And be sure to share this Funny or Die episode with a Ron Swanson fan today!
