Disney Just Dropped a New ‘Aladdin’ Trailer & We Can’t Contain Our Excitement

Disney is giving us everything our childhood dreams are made of so far this year and we are here for it!

Just last month, they gave us the first teaser trailer for Frozen 2. And yesterday, Disney dropped the first full trailer for the live-action remake of ‘Aladdin.’

It’s a whole new world we’re living in folks, and all signs point to Disney.

The riveting trailer drops us in a crowded market where Ali busts out some killer moves as he runs from police.

It’s only the first taste of what’s sure to be an action-packed film that’ll keep us on the edge of our magic carpet the entire ride.

In the two minutes that follow, all nostalgia returns as Abu lands swiftly on Ali’s shoulder and we get our first glimpse of Princess Jasmine, played by the ever-so-beautiful Naomi Scott.

Seriously, girlfriend is perfection.

We’re given a brief glance at Ali’s quest to find the lamp, and then, THEN, a very blue Will Smith emerges from the lamp as the film’s beloved genie.

I mean, can your week really get any better?

The trailer shows off the stunning cinematography that captured this new classic, and put us right there with the characters in the action. All while seemingly staying true to the original flick we all fell in love with as children.

Still, Will Smith has some legendary shoes to fill, taking on the character that was originally voiced by the beloved, Robin Williams. But from the looks of this trailer, he’s up for the challenge, putting his own spin on the role and transforming the classic song, “Friend Like Me,” with the addition of rap.

Of course, there’s themes of identity, love, and following your dreams all tied into the script and storyline as we watch Ali find himself in the midst of temptation and growth.

In just two and a half minutes, Disney proves once again that it’s here to deliver. And with that, May can’t come soon enough.
