Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

In this passage, Joshua, who is on deck to lead God’s people into battle and into the promised land, is stepping in to lead following the footsteps of the leader, Moses.  Moses is speaking these words to him, and reminding him to be strong and courageous, to not panic because of their enemies, but that God would go ahead of them, and not just that, He wouldn’t fail them or leave them.

I believe God speaks this over us today.  In a day when the word panic is an underlying feeling around this virus, God speaks this: don’t panic. Why?  Because in the midst of this pandemic and this time of feeling overwhelmed by big trials and also just the daily seemingly small ones, God calls us to be strong and courageous whether we feel it or not.  How?  Because our God who calls us to the impossible task, is with us.  And just as He promised Joshua, He will not fail us, and won’t abandon us.

Whatever you believe about what you can or can’t handle and how big or small your plate is, God has called you to love and give and flourish right now. In your home, with your children, in this uncertain time, be strong and courageous. Take a breath today, breathe in His grace, and walk in all He has for you today. You’ve got this, because He’s got you.

What if the struggles of life aren’t a barrier to thriving but an invitation into your most vibrant days?

Whether you feel weighed down by never-ending tasks, or you find yourself walking through your most difficult days, you might be left wondering if a vibrant life will ever be in your future.

When Jennie Lusko’s five-year-old daughter, Lenya, died from an asthma attack five days before Christmas, Jennie didn’t know how she could keep going—in parenting, in leading, in faith. The Fight to Flourish uses her powerful story to show us that flourishing is not a far-off hope, but a very near reality.

Discover that true transformation comes not in spite of our struggles but because of them. They are the very ingredient God loves to use. You don’t have to have it all together for God to work. He just wants you.
