Jennifer Garner’s Post-Family Fun Selfie Perfectly Sums Up “Fun Mom” Exhaustion

Actress and mom of 3 Jennifer Garner has LONG been a favorite of mine. I’ve loved her since her “Alias” days. And because she’s a Hollywood mom who tends to “keep it real” (remember that famous “baby bump” comment to Ellen?), she’s a favorite of a LOT of moms. We love it when stars show that on some level, they really ARE just like us!

With that in mind, you can see why Garner’s recent Instagram post—an exhausted, makeup-free, desperate-for-coffee selfie, has moms raising their hands with a “YASSSS GIRL!” Garner posted the pic the morning after her annual “Yes Day” with her kids. Inspired by the children’s book of the same name, it’s a special day each year where Garner says “yes” to all her kids requests – within reason. As you can see below, this year’s “yes day” REALLY took it out of the 45-year-old. After all, as she hashtagged, “wesleptinatent” – and that would definitely mean ZERO sleep for this mama!

I love how Garner’s kids Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Sam, 5, know they can always look forward to this supper-fun day with their mama every year. I can’t say that I’ve been brave enough to attempt one myself, though.

Garner says she highly recommends the “Yes Day” book AND that acutal day itself, but it does come with side effects.

“You’ll never need coffee more than the day after ‘Yes Day!’” She wrote on Instagram. Her many hashtags and exhausted expression give a hint as to what those side effects are, LOL! “#fiveyearsrunning, #wesleptinatent, #inthebackyard, #coffeeismyyesday, #yesday.”

Thanks for keeping it real once again, Jen! Feel free to remind us how much you’re like the rest of us ANY old time you feel like it!
