Jennifer Garner Shares Heartfelt Back to School Message: ‘God Bless Teachers’

Jennifer Garner

If you’re a parent living through the dumpster fire that is 2020, there’s likely only been one thing plaguing your mind for the last several months: what to do about going back to school.

As a mother of three, Jennifer Garner is feeling the weight of that same decision.

In a post on Monday, the actress shared a fresh-faced selfie, which she captioned with a sweet back to school prayer that every parent can appreciate.

“Thank you for the gifts and lessons of this summer. God bless teachers, faculty and administrators as they guide us through this big question mark of a school year. Bless the parents trying to make it all work. And the children who are learning to make the best of things in ways we couldn’t have predicted. Help us remember we hold each other in our hands. And please God, preserve our collective sense of humor. Amen.”

While many schools around the country have already returned to classes, most have only just gotten their toes wet when it comes to identifying what the 2020-2021 school year looks like. With several schools closing their doors just days after opening, and predictions of Labor Day weekend bringing spikes in coronavirus cases, it’s safe to say that the only way to make it through is by taking it just one day at a time.

Garner, whose own mom was an English teacher, knows first-hand the heart that goes into molding young minds. And in a year that has proven anything can happen, her message for teachers and administrators holds much weight.

In July, the 48-year-old broke down in an Instagram Live video, sharing that while the struggles we’re facing with COVID feel trivial in the grand scheme of things, her main focus is on her kids and their experience with “all of this.”
