Mom Gets Call From School: “Found a Dead Squirrel In Your Kid’s Backpack”—and It ONLY Gets Better From There

No mom ever wants to get THAT CALL from the school principal, but when mom Ladye Hobson answered the phone and heard her son’s principal on the other end, she was immediately relieved. “Your son just made my day,” she said.

Or not.

You see, Hobson’s son had cracked the principal up by…concealing a DEAD SQUIRREL in his backpack!

She even texted Hobson the photographic evidence.

After the principal sent her this picture, the horrified Hobson took to Facebook to explain the whole hilarious story.

When the principal calls to tell you that your son has made her day, so you get excited for the good news… Only to find out that the faculty has discovered a dead squirrel in his backpack (yeah, that 50 dollar Pottery Barn backpack). When asked by the principal what possessed him to pick up this dead squirrel and store it in his backpack, my son replies with “I really wanted squirrel dumplings for dinner tonight.” Then, she asks if I actually want the squirrel to come home with him. Y’all, I had to explain that we are from the country, but we’re not THAT country. (Sorry if any of you actually eat squirrel dumplings – I don’t mean that to be offensive). She said “it looked so peaceful lying there in his bag,” then sent me this picture…😩#jesustakethewheel #lifewithboys#operationbackpacksantitationisunderway

Let’s recap: Hobson’s son found a dead squirrel somewhere and was all “DUDE! I should totally put this in my backpack and take it home so mom can fry it up for dinner later!” After her reports this to the principal, the principal calls mom and is all, “Umm, do you actually want us to LET him keep the squirrel and bring it home, or do you already have squirrel meat in the freezer?” And them mom is all, “OH MAH GAH NO WE DON’T EAT SQUIRREL PLEASE BURN THE $50 BACKPACK I GOTTA GO START A CHEMICAL BATH FOR MY KID SO IT WILL BE READY WHEN HE GETS HOME!”

This…might be the BEST parenting story EVER!

But only because it didn’t happen to me!

Thanks for sharing, mama! Tell your son he made MY day, too!
