Mom Ranting About Her Kids’ School “Red Ribbon Week” Is ALL OF US

You guys, I met my soulmate this morning. Well, more like “Saw a video of my soulmate on Facebook.” Because I love you, I am going to share it above—it’s life-changing! You see, when my kids have a “spirit day” or worse, a dreaded “spirit WEEK” at school where they have to wear a different freakin’ special outfit EVERY DAY, I die a little inside. Or, A LOT. I don’t want to have to go out and BUY crazy socks or tie dye or a SUPERHERO COSTUME or an NFL SHIRT for goodness’ sake!! I can barely even handle Fridays where they get to wear their “class shirt” instead of their uniforms. JUST LET THEM WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS! ISN’T THAT WHY WE HAVE UNIFORMS??

Oops, was I yelling? Let me get back on track.

Mom Melissa Radke became my soulmate, or at least my spirit animal, when she posted the above rant about her kids’ school “red ribbon week” — ostensibly a week to encourage kids to stay off drugs and alcohol by letting them dress up in crazy outfits all week.

Radke goes on a rant about how the real purpose of such a week is “to make moms crazy” and I couldn’t agree MORE! Not only is her rant SPOT on, it’s also HYSTERICAL! Do these dress-up days at your kids’ school make you crazy, too?

Thanks for keeping it real, Melissa! And prepare for some fan mail! (You don’t already have a BFF do you? If not, I’d like to throw my hat in the ring!)
