Royal Baby Alert! Duchess of Cambridge Gives Birth to Third Child

I’m gonna tell you a little secret about me, dear readers. I have a been fascinated by royalty since I was in the seventh grade. That’s when I started devouring biographies about Queen Elizabeth II and other royal households of Europe. As a child of the 80s and 90s, I LOVED Princess Diana. I was devastated when she died, and I stayed up all night on my 20th birthday to watch her funeral. In recent years, I’ve loved what her sons William, Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry have been doing to make the world a better place by shining a spotlight on mental health. And of course, I loooove William’s wife, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge. So when I heard the couple were expecting their third royal baby, I was BEYOND excited!

This morning I woke to news that the Duchess was in labor, and just two hours later the good news that another boy – a prince, fifth in line to the throne, will join big sister Princess Charlotte and big brother Prince George. Another royal baby? HURRAH! The fact that this birth comes just four weeks before Prince Harry’s wedding to American Meghan Markle is almost to much to take for royal lovers like myself!

Now I’ll have to wait with everyone else to hear the new royal baby boy’s name, which hasn’t been announced yet. I am wondering since it’s a prince, if he will bear any of his beloved uncle Prince Harry’s names (Henry Charles Albert David), as it seems the two brothers are quite close. We shall see! Prince George’s full name is George Alexander Louis, while Princess Charlotte’s full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

As soon as I find out the new little prince’s name, I’ll update it here and see if I can tell you who he’s named after, as pretty much all royal babies are named after family members in some way.

Stay tuned, royalty lovers! And congratulations to the whole family on this blessed event!
