Mom Is Called “Old Hag” For Having Gray Hair—Her PERFECT Response Is One We ALL Need to Hear

Be that person!

Rachel Farnsworth is the successful foodie behind the popular website and YouTube channel The Stay at Home Chef. This  31-year-old mom of two usually sticks to posting recipes, but last week she took to Facebook and YouTube to talk about something she feels “really strongly about.” Her video struck a nerve and has been viewed on Facebook over 2.8 million times in 5 days!

In the video, Farnsworth explains that she recently got a blog comment from a reader saying she should dye her gray hair because it made her look like “an old hag.” Now, anyone who works on the Internet has to have a thick skin, as comments can sometimes be ruthless. But Farnsworth couldn’t let this one slide. She had a message to get out, and she wanted to make sure everyone knew where she stood on this issue.

You see, as Farnsworth reveals in the video, and on her website’s About page, she has an auto-immune disease called Addison’s disease which means that she most likely “will not live to be 70 years old.” So, she says, she treasures her gray hair. Her husband loves it because he wants to “grow old” with her. “My gray hair,” she says with emotion, “is a sign that I’m ALIVE.”

After explaining why she loves her gray hair, Farnsworth goes on to encourage us ALL to LOVE ourselves just the way God made us, to “rock” our bodies. When we can all do that, mamas, no bullies can EVER win or get us down, no matter what names they call us! She also says, “The world needs more men like my husband to encourage women to embrace who they are. She ends with a call to action that is so simple, it’s impossible to ignore: Be that person. Be that person. Be THAT person.”

I LOVE this video and everything that Farnsworth says. We are ALL fearfully and wonderfully made by a God who ADORES us, and when we reject ourselves, we are rejecting Him. So love yourselves today, mamas. And tell someone else how AMAZING they are, just the way they were made.

Be that person!
