After 41 Brain Surgeries, This Teen Wants You to See “What God Has Done in My Life” (Plus! Taylor Swift!)

Amelia Holley has  been through so much pain in her 17 years—more than any of us should face in a lifetime. Born with the rare Dandy Walker Syndrome that causes constant water on her brain, Amelia really wasn’t expected to live long. She’s defied the odds again and again, but not without some suffering along the way. This morning, Amelia underwent her 42nd brain surgery to relieve the water and pressure on her brain. This will make her 19th surgery this year alone. She’s spent most of it in the hospital.

Amelia gets through her trials with the loving support of family and friends, and a deep faith in God. She’s also a music over and writes her own songs, especially while she is in the hospital, because, she says, ‘I didn’t want to come out on the other end of all the surgeries not seeing what God had done in my life. I wanted the time I spent in the hospital to mean something other than Amelia is sick again.”

Amelia is also a devoted Taylor Swift fan and was suprised recently after her 41st  brain surgery when an anonymous donor provided  her with tickets to Swift’s 1989 tour and backstage passes to meet her hero. Check out her amazing reaction in the video above when she was told the news in her hospital bed after surgery #41.
