He Handed the Mic to This Blind, Autistic “Drug Baby”—What Came Out of His Mouth Gave Me Goosebumps!

Christopher Duffley was born to a drug-addicted mom, and as a result of her oxycontin and cocaine use, he was born very premature, (just 1 lb. 12 oz!) and has several physical difficulties, including blindness. He also has autism. His uncle and aunt adopted him from foster care, and also brought him to church, where he grew up learning about Jesus.

At 4 years old while on a mission trip with his adoptive parents, Christopher first sang in public—”Open the Eyes of My Heart”. Since then, he’s been singing to crowds all over New England where he lives.

This song “Open the Eyes of My HEART” is so especially significant since Christopher is blind. But he can still know and see God’s love, glory, and power! Listening to this boy’s sweet voice, I got chills over and over. His obvious love for the Lord brought me to tears—and it’s extremely humbling.

Lord, help me see You as this boy doys, and praise you unabashedly as he does!

Thank you, Christopher, for sharing your gifts!
