Miscarriage is always a tragedy, whether the pregnancy was just 4 weeks along or late-term. Losing the life you expect, nurture, anticipate and love so much is irreparably painful. Recently, one grieving mom who lost her baby boy at 11 weeks gestation took to Facebook to use her grief for good, however. Tiffany Burns posted a photo of her baby boy, Ezekiel, as a testament to how perfectly formed babies are in the womb and how valuable their lives are even in the first trimester. She says:
This is my hand. Holding my sweet baby, Ezekiel. I delivered him on January 20, 2016. His heart stopped at 11 weeks 2 days. He had a heartbeat. Such a sweet sound. He had life! He was not a blob. He was not just a clump of cells. He was formed. Perfect. Look at the details. His sweet fingers. Toes. I am blessed to be his mother. He lived to show others life!
Please feel free to share his LIFE with others. He’s my sweet little missionary! <3
Tiffany’s photo at the bottom of this post, and you can see Ezekiel’s sweet fingers and toes, and the rest of his fearfully and wonderfully made little body. This picture may upset you if you have had a miscarriage—just a warning. However, I would not consider it graphic or grotesque whatsoever—it’s just a very tiny, fully intact baby.
The responses to Tiffany’s Facebook post were also truly touching, as other parents told of the value of the lives of their unborn children:
“Working to save premature babies deemed unviable or a burden in Africa, am inspired and encouraged by your love for your little missionary Ezekiel to fight harder for mamas told their babies aren’t worth fighting for he matters and has a testimony,” said one commenter.
Another mom, Ester Garcia, who lost her baby at 16 weeks, said, ““We share our pictures so all can see a perfectly formed human. Our society needs to be aware that businesses like Planned Parenthood are lying to parents by telling them their babies are just tissue, not showing them there is a beating heart and a baby who deserves a chance at life. This clearly confirmed to us that our pro-life ministry work is needed and crucial to save our brothers and sisters from being executed at the hands of abortionists who are in a money-making business.”
My prayers go out to the moms who’ve lost their sweet babies before they could hold them in their arms, and I thank them for sharing the beauty and value of life in the womb. Your babies lives are making a difference!
