Former Jonas Brothers singer (but current Jonas brother) Kevin Jonas has, unlike most teen pop stars, seemingly transitioned to adulthood LIKE A BOSS. He and his wife, Danielle, have been married for nearly 7 years and are the parents of daughter Alena, 2, with another little girl on the way.

But adulthood, or parenthood, rather, hasn’t always been 100% rosy. Jonas opened up honestly about his #1 parenting challenge in an interview for Oprah: Where Are They Now ― Extra.” He says what surprised him most about having a child was that he didn’t bond with her right away.
“Don’t be surprised if you don’t connect as a father right away. That’s the one thing… No one ever talked to me about it,” he says. He also says that social media can make you feel very pressured because of it’s constant depictions of the blissful parenting moments, but not so many bad ones.
You see every picture of a dad, like, sleeping on the couch with the baby on them and all this stuff,” he said. “I didn’t find my place right away.”
Once he did find his parenting groove, however, things got better fast. “I’m in such a good place with her,” he says of Alena. “It’s amazing.”
As he and Danielle expect their 2nd child, Jonas also has some advice for new parents. “…just remember to take every day,” he says. “You’re not going to get that day back.”
Congratulations to the Jonas family, and thanks Kevin, for your refreshing parenting honesty!
