The Quincy, Massachusetts police department posted a tape of a hilarious 911 call this week. The caller? A very law-abiding 5-year-old boy. His emergency? His dad had run a red light earlier in the day when they were out and about. He also reports that it was in “Mommy’s car” and that it was “brand new”. Oh, snap! Looks like dad just got BUSTED!
The amused 911 dispatcher asks to speak to the boy’s dad, who is embarrassed and apologetic when he gets on the line. Lucky for him, the dispatcher isn’t in the mood to play cop, and he jokingly lets him off the hook.
What a funny little stickler for the rules these parents are raising! This is a GREAT lesson in how our kids are watching and listening to EVERYTHING we do—and we need to be good examples for them, and be the adults we want them to grow up to be.
