This Mom Could’ve Stopped the Orlando Pulse Gunman—But She Didn’t

Federal agents said today that Orlando gunman’s current wife, Noor Mateen, has told them she knew her husband was planning some kind of attack and tried to talk him out of it. NBC is reporting that she also told the FBI that she was with him when he  bought the guns and the ammunition he used in the attack.

This mom of a three-year-old son even told the FBI that she once drove her husband to Pulse to scope out the club where he eventually killed 50 people and wounded 53 others.

Officials are considering charging her for her role, and I can’t help but hope they do. I don’t want to judge because I don’t  know what kind of husband he was—maybe she was terrified of him. But still…oh my goodness, what a TERRIBLE tragedy could have been avoided if she would have just TOLD someone. Surely there’s nothing worse that could have happened to her than what is ALREADY happening to her! Not to mention the immense grief and suffering of the families who lost loved one and those who lived through this horrific attack and are still recovering.

For some reason, this news leaves me reeling…that a mother of a young boy could have stopped the grief that so many moms are feeling today.

Do you think Noor Mateen should be charged for failing to notify authorities?
