Do NOT ask mom, actress, and cooking show host Tia Mowry if she’s pregnant. While the question itself isn’t always ill intended, recently Mowry has taken some shots from people on Instagram about the few extra pounds she is admittedly carrying around these days. Mowry recently went on HuffPost live to talk about what she calls “body shaming” as well as some other topics, and the way she shuts down the fat-shaming-fueled pregnancy rumors is 100% PERFECT.
“Guys, I’m not pregnant, I’m just HAPPY,” she said.
She went on to say “I’ve gained these extra 10, 15 pounds because of my cooking show. … I’m just enjoying life and when I want to drop the pounds, I will, but right now I’m happy with who I am.”
HELLO! I am LOVING this response to her “haters”. As one who writes articles on the internet for a living, I know how mean some people can be on social media, and I would encourage Mowry to stay STRONG in her self-confidence, and not pay attention to those who are being mean just for sport. Stay happy, Tia! You are a beautiful, talented woman and I appreciate your response to our society’s obsession with moms “getting back to pre-baby” condition. Being happy and healthy for your kids physically and emotionally is way more important than what some anonymous meanie says on the internet.
