It may not be an official holiday, but Amazon Prime Day makes its mark on our calendars (and wallets) every year. The online shopping event typically happens in the Summer, but was postponed this year with little details about its return.
Well friends, we are happy to report: IT’S BACK. Amazon Prime Day is coming our way this October for 48-hours of sales, deals, and 2-day shipping on all of this year’s must-haves.
So whether you’re in the mood to knock out all of that holiday shopping early, or just looking to do a little retail therapy to help cope with this dumpster fire of a year, Amazon Prime Day has just the thing for everyone.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2020?
The event will take place starting at 12 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and will last a full 48 hours, just like last year, ending at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Throughout the 48-hour event, thousands of items will be on sale as part of Prime Day deals, lightning deals, deals of the day and flash savings. Some merchants will launch these various deals during staggered windows of time, while others will run the deal until they sell out.
Start your shopping early and set up deal alerts to notify you when those items you’ve had your eye on, go on sale.
In order to take advantage of Prime Day deals, you’ll need to have an Amazon Prime membership. If you’re not currently a Prime member, access to the exclusive club costs $12.99/month. But you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, which will allow you access to all of the deals just for Amazon Prime Day 2020.
Shop Now and Get Rewards on Prime Day
In addition to saving money on Prime Day this year, Amazon is creating more ways than ever to get the most out of the annual two-day event. Take advantage of the ‘Spend $10, Get $10’ deal at Whole Foods (which is owned by Amazon). From Sept. 28 through Oct. 12., for every $10 you spend in-store purchasing your weekly essentials, you’ll receive a $10 credit to put toward any purchase during Prime Day. Just be sure to scan your Whole Foods QR code (located in the Amazon App) at checkout!
Amazon will also be running another ‘Spend $10, Get $10’ promotion for customers that shop small in the days leading up to Prime Day, and customers are eligible to receive a $10 credit for every $10 spent supporting a small business on Amazon. It’s all part of the company’s pledge to invest $18 billion in small businesses this year.
