Carrie Underwood is bringing some much needed cheer to 2020 with her latest album, My Gift.
The collection of Christmas songs features both classics and originals, making it the perfect soundtrack to the end of an unprecedented year. Although the track Hallelujah — a moving duet with John Legend — is getting loads of attention, it’s a different track on the album that has our hearts bursting at the seems this holiday season.
Carrie’s rendition of Little Drummer Boy, features a special boy in the 37-year-old’s life—her 5-year-old son, Isaiah Fisher.
Fisher, who sweetly sings the second verse of the song and joins his mama for the final set gives Little Drummer Boy a voice that personifies the song so perfectly, and is giving us ALL the feels.
Have a listen for yourself!
Carrie gushed on Instagram about her special time recording the song with Isaiah writing, “So happy we captured the sweetest voice in this special moment in time.”

But the fun didn’t stop in the recording studio! Isaiah also got to perform the song with his mom for her very own Christmas Special, My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood on HBO Max.
The televised special, which is available now on HBO Max, shows behind the scenes footage of Carrie and Isaiah recording Little Drummer Boy.
Dawning a collared button-up, the 5-year-old was all business in his time in the studio. “I can do it as much times as you want,” he tells his mom. Of course, he nailed it in the first take!
