When it comes to all things back to school this fall, creativity is key. No one understands that better than Mr. Wilson.
The TikTok user and childhood educator shared a video on August 20 of his perfectly decorated classroom before students were set to arrive later that week. And while most teachers hang posters and add some flare to the walls, Mr. Wilson took things to a whole new level, turning his classroom into his own personal Trader Joe’s.

He even dubbed it “Trader Wilson’s” and completed the look with red shopping baskets, hand-lettered signs, a customized Trader Joe’s t-shirt, and all things “luau,” to start the school year off right.
“Going back to school looks a little different this year, and so does my classroom,” he wrote on TikTok. “Thanks to the crew at Trader Joe’s for helping me out!”
Unfortunately, his Trader Joe’s themed classroom won’t be enjoyed in person by any students as his school, like so many others, turned to online learning before the school year even began.
And while a handful of students won’t have the pleasure of basking in all of Mr. Wilson’s Trader Joe’s glory, the internet surely has. A TikTok hilariously depicting his disappointment over online learning has gone viral with over 403,000 views so far!

Thousands commented with how impressed they were by his classroom theme, while others praised him for being such a dedicated teacher.
“I’m obsessed with this theme, you would’ve been my fave teacher,” one commenter wrote.
“As a Trader Joe’s employee this is simply amazing,” said another.
Wilson explained in a TikTok comment that he was able to get the details so precise for his classroom decorations by enlisting the help of a nearby TJ’s.
“My local store took pictures for me and I printed at Staples!” he wrote.
And after all of his hard work, a viral TikTok, and lot’s of sanitizing, it turns out Mr. Wilson’s students will get to enjoy his classroom after all. On September 2, he shared another TikTok of his classroom with the caption, “They’re coming.”

All the praise for Mr. Wilson and others like him who are working to make the most out of what 2020 is giving us.
