‘Duck Dynasty’ Stars Willie & Korie Robertson on Their New Talk Show, ‘At Home With the Robertsons’

It’s been four years, almost to the day, since Willie and Korie Robertson said goodbye to their beloved television series Duck Dynasty. Since then, America’s favorite family has seen weddings, engagements, babies, miscarriages, and one very dramatic haircut, among a whole myriad of other wild adventures.

This spring, the Robertson’s are back as Willie and Korie take on a new project, At Home With the Robertsons, a Facebook Watch original series. Join the Robertson’s as they sit down with stars like Bachelorette Hannah Brown, ex-NFL player Tim Tebow, Love & Hip Hop‘s Yandy Smith-Harris, and family members including Uncle Si and daughter Sadie to discuss cultural issues dividing America such as race, religion and more.

“The world looks so divided,” Korie told TV Insider. “You can easily unfollow someone on social media or make a comment on somebody’s post, but a lot of the time we don’t just sit down and talk. For our family, sitting around the dinner table and having those conversations is a big part of our lives, so we thought, ‘Hey, why don’t we just do that with other people and laugh a lot along the way?’ We might be talking about something hard, but in the meantime we’re going mud-digging or crawfishing or skeet shooting, doing a little Louisiana in there as well.”

Willie and Korie are no strangers to the racism we’re seeing across America today. Their son, Will is biracial, while their daughter Rebecca is Asian.

“We discuss these topics all the time anyway because it’s just the nature of our family,” Willie said.

Despite the weightiness of the show’s content, there’s no shortage of that signature candid Robertson family humor or outdoor adventures.

“When you end up doing something fun together, you kind of end up forgetting the differences we have,” Willie said, adding that they’ve taken a whole different approach to the way people traditionally do talk shows. “We took some former NFL guys out crawfishing and it’s fun to see people learn new things about Louisiana culture that are important to us. When you think of a talk show, you think of two people sitting across from each other in chairs. This is a talk show, but a whole different way of doing it.”

The couple says that while years of Duck Dynasty prepared them for this new series, they couldn’t be more different in nature.

“We were used to having cameras in our faces and at our homes and everything. But At Home feels more vulnerable,” Korie said.

Duck Dynasty was more goofing off,” Willie added. “I think we need At Home, this is a show that’s made in America.”

At Home With the Robertsons is now streaming for free on Facebook Watch.
