Like many females of the Christian persuasion, I have had Lauren Daigle’s latest album, Look Up, Child on repeat for daaaayyss. To be fair, I did the same thing with her 2015 album How Can It Be. The girl’s lyrics just speak to my heart in a way that at time, have been truly life-giving. So, I’ve been thrilled that Look Up, Child has been so popular that it’s topped even the non-Christian charts, recently placing third on Billboard’s top 100. Whoop whoop!
Lauren Daigle further raised her profile, and spread the word of God’s love to more people last week when she did a stunning performance of her song “Still Rolling Stones” on the Ellen Show. Girl can SING and the live performance for Ellen’s audience was amazing! She sang God-focused lyrics that reached millions on TV and the internet; the YouTube video of that performance has nearly 2 million views! The song says, in part:
I thought it was over
An answer to prayer
The voice of a Savior
Rise up (rise up)
Rise up (rise up)
This beating heart, these open eyes
The grave let go
The darkness should have known
(You’re still rolling rolling, you’re still rolling rolling oh)
You’re still rolling stones.”
Needless to say, I was super excited when I saw this morning that on Wednesday next week (November 7, 2018), Lauren will be performing on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon! I am freaking out excited for her because a) I love Jimmy Fallon and b) it’s such a HUGE platform to spread the gospel!!
Lauren Daigle spilled the beans on her official instagram, saying,
“SURPRISEEE!!!! Personal dream. So excited to announce that I will be on Jimmy Fallon! I always said that if I ever make it on The Tonight Show I would run and slide on his desk. That would be my dream entrance. Who knows what could happen Tune in Wednesday 11/7.”
LOLOL. I kind of hope she holds back on the sliding on to his desk, but who knows? She could probably pull it off!
