Giving birth is always a beautiful thing, no matter how that baby comes into this world. As a mom who has had three c-sections and witnessed four vaginal births of friends and family, I know that’s true! And in this modern age, I’ve become a fan of beautiful birth photos, whether professional or candid.

Instagram user marinaaprendizdemae posted her post c-section photo with her husband and baby, and WOW! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Her newborn baby girl appears to be GRINNING at just a few minutes old—unbelievable! (And also? Mom looks great! I looked and felt SUPER DRUGGED after my c-sections, I would love to know how she captured that look of happiness and alertness, LOL!)
