“It is with profound sadness that we share the news of a tragic loss in our Girl Scout sisterhood,” the post read. “Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes asks that you please keep the Nokomis Service Area volunteers and families in your thoughts and prayers as they grapple with this senseless loss.”
They also shared an address in which cards can be mailed in show of support to the families.
A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night at Halmstad Elementary School. Hundreds of Girl Scouts showed up in support.
This comes just one week after three siblings were killed in Indiana while boarding a school bus. A negligent driver blatantly ignored traffic laws and failed to stop behind a parked school bus with its emergency lights flashing and its stop sign arm out.
Continued reports of these tragic deaths are so heartbreaking. Yet it’s so important that we share them in hopes that it will prompt others to be cautious behind the wheel.
Lifting up these families and their communities in prayer today as they fight through the insurmountable pain of these tragedies.
