“It just led to him raping me more, more than he already did, which was a lot,” she says. She continued, “Looking at pornography wasn’t enough for him. Having sex with his wife after looking at pornography, it wasn’t enough for him. And then it led him to finally going out and kidnapping me. He just always wanted more. I can’t say that he would not have gone out and kidnapped me had he not looked at pornography. All I know is that pornography made my living hell worse.”
Parents, please let Elizabeth Smart’s words be fuel to YOUR fire for two objectives: 1) Protect your kids from predators. Up your vigilance about who they are meeting and talking to online. 2) Keep your kids from pornography. It is addictive and harmful. Studies have shown that it changes the brain and I TRULY believe that it can turn “normal” people into abusers and/or predators. Hardcore porn makes people desire abnormal, violent sex, and many get to a point where they will do anything to subject someone to what they’ve seen in those photos and videos.
Thank you, Elizabeth Smart, for speaking out against porn. In my eyes, you are a true HERO, and I couldn’t respect you ANY more.
