Satanic ‘Bible Girl 666’ Shirt Featured in Target Pride Collection; Christians Call for Boycott

Eric Metaxas joined in the conversation by tweeting, “It’s time to boycott Target stores.” Metaxas shared one of Johnson’s tweets, which included a quote from Abprallen: “Satan loves you and respects who you are…LGBTQIA+ people are so often referred to as being a product of Satan or going against God’s will, so fine. We’ll hang out with Satan instead.”

Many commented that they had been boycotting the retail store since their bathroom policy changes back in 2016. Target boasts that it stands for inclusivity and allows “transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

Others are torn over whether boycotting really makes a difference. Nevertheless, some are calling on Christians to live out their convictions with their purchases.

Target Offers a Wide Range of Pride Merchandise

With this year’s line of Pride merchandise, Target is encouraging customers to “celebrate with clothing, decor, pet gear, and more.”

“Take pride,” Target’s website reads. “Being true to yourself and your community is something to celebrate. All year long.”

The retail store offers pride merchandise for every member of the family—including pets. Customers can find adult clothing, kids’ and baby clothing, and family outfits that coordinate the look—and message—for all family members.

People can also browse through accessories, shoes, party supplies, home decor, books, and media that support pride awareness and verbiage.

Target has officially partnered with, for a limited time, two designers that “express to impress.” JZD is a “queer, Latina-owned apparel & lifestyle brand creating products that make the Latino community feel represented and connected to their roots.”

Ash + Chess is a “stationery & gift company that creates greeting cards, art prints, and more to uplift the queer community.”

Target is interested in building even more relationships with other pride designers. They state, “If you’re an LGBTQIA+ founder, owner, creator, or entrepreneur, we want to know about it. Register your business with Supplier Diversity.”
