It only takes one person to inspire a world of kindness
As the trailer continues, we see that young Lloyd is more than merely profiling Fred Rogers. He’s seeking answers for himself. The answers to life, love, and the pursuit of happiness if you will.
“You love broken people, like me,” Lloyd says to Mister Rogers in a cafe.
In just under two minutes, Sony and Tom Hanks have invoked literally every warm, fuzzy, joyful emotion in the book. There’s a hope that comes with Fred Rogers, and it’s a story that we need in our lives forever and always.
After some powerful build-up and a highlight reel of compassionate scenes, the trailer hits us with this zinger:
“I think that the best thing we can do is to let people know that each one of them is precious,” Mister Rogers says.
Tears.
The incredible trailer closes with Fred and Lloyd on a crowded subway, where a group of kids begin singing “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…” to him. Fred soaks it all in with joy as the entire subway car erupts in song, asking him to be their neighbor.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood hits theaters Thanksgiving.
