‘Bluey’ Set to Return for Season 4—Here’s Everything We Know

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the latest Bluey episodes, “The Sign” and “Surprise.”

The hit Australian kids show ‘Bluey’ has really sent families on an emotional rollercoaster this month.

On April 14, the how premiered an episode called “The Sign,” which was a first-ever 28 minute episode that left us all in our feels.

The penultimate episode took us on a journey to say the least, all of which included the Heelers moving, the wedding, Chilli’s sister’s pregnancy, the Heelers not moving and Bluey being the best big sister anyone could have asked for.

Is Bluey Ending?

Following the episode, fans of all ages feared that “The Sign” was a quiet finale to the entire series, which has captured kids’ and parents’ hearts for all the right reasons.

We were quickly reassured by the show’s creators that Bluey would continue after a planned break that was originally announced in July of 2023.

Then a surprise episode of Bluey (aptly titled “Surprise”) dropped a week after “The Sign” premiered, and it featured a grown-up Bluey and her older parents.

Our hearts can only take so much, Ludo.

The “Surprise” episode ended on a cliffhanger, leaving many wondering if the glimpse into Bluey’s future is a sneak peek, the setting for future stories or simply an ending to the season.

Will There Be a Season 4 of Bluey?

A show spokesperson “double confirmed” to the Australian Broadcasting Company that they have “no plans to end the show.”

Bluey producer Daley Pearson announced the upcoming break in an interview with Australia’s The Courier Mail, just after the show broke records to become Australia’s most-watched TV show ever. In the interview, Pearson said that the success has been rewarding, but now, he wants to make sure the writing team can maintain the quality of the show without burning out.

“It’s been four or five years and we’ve made 154 episodes, it is kind of unprecedented to do that back-to-back,” Pearson said.

He continued, “We have all secretly agreed with each other that we wouldn’t keep making Bluey if it wasn’t as good as the one that came before, so we want to make sure we keep doing that. Part of it is just not pushing to come back. We are resting; the more we ask ourselves [when work will begin on season four], the longer it will be, which is why I hesitate talking about it too much.”
