As parents, we all KNOW that car seats are important, right? I mean…I feel like I shouldn’t have to drive that point home, and yet, children are seriously or injured in car wrecks every day because their car seats were not installed properly or they weren’t being used properly (in the wrong type for their size, not rear-facing, etc.) After being in a terrifying and truly horrific car crash with her two sons, one mom, Jenna Casado Rabberman, is using Facebook and the crash’s after photos to remind all parents that properly installed and used car seats are LITERAL life savers. Just look at this photo of her devastated car and these two perfect-looking car seats!
Rabbleman told ABC News that she was driving her two little boys, Beckett, 2.5 and Brooks, 6 weeks — when she was in a crash. As you can see from the photo, her barely-recognizable car was TOTALED, but her sons were perfectly safe and without so much as a scratch.
The thankful mom said that she considers herself a “pretty relaxed parent” in general, but not at all relaxed when it comes to car seats. “I feel like it’s such an easy thing that I can do to keep them safe,” she said. “I know that I would never be able to forgive myself if anything happened to my children because I didn’t take the time to do something so simple to protect them. I don’t think any parent could live with that.”
