They both thought that was a pretty neat experience – it’s hard to climb up a slide without your hands to balance you!
Then, we moved on to the kitchen for the grande finale of our night in – a delicious snack that went along with the box theme. The kids looooved making the Beach Cup Creation snack.
Jonah is on a gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free diet, so he couldn’t eat the snack, but he was a champ and helped prepare it with gusto! He REALLY enjoyed crushing up the graham crackers. LOL!
They both worked together SO nicely on this!
In the end, they were delighted with how it came out, and Sophie really enjoyed eating it!
The bottom line is, we had a lot of fun with our Kids Night In Box AND it underscored a really important lesson about the value and importance of people with disabilities in our society, which is an important family value to us.
I do want to mention that another thing I love about the Kids Night In Box service is that you can customize them. If faith is important to your family, as it is to ours, you can add a faith element to your box that will emphasize a Biblical principle to go with each activity. It’s like Sunday school any night of the week!
If you’re looking for a fun monthly activity to help you connect with your kids, get creative, learn together, and emphasize your faith, the Kids Night In Box is a great resource. All the pre-planning and supply gathering is done FOR you – so literally all you have to do is HAVE FUN with your child. You can purchase just one box to give it a try, or you can subscribe to get a great deal and have the fun delivered to your door each month. Jump on over to their website to find out how, explore the MANY other box themes, and see more photos of how other families are enjoying their Kids Night In Box time together.
