A Texas mom is going viral after her mama bear instincts were caught on camera.
Phyllis Pena was pulling into her driveway early on January 31, when she spotted a suspected peeping tom peeking through the windows outside of her 15-year-old daughter’s room. The suspect saw Pena and fled just as she was calling the police, who arrived on scene shortly thereafter.
It was reported that the suspect, 19-year-old Zane Hawkings, was located nearby as police arrived to investigate. Hawkings made a run for it, dodging the police, but he couldn’t escape a mother protecting her daughter.
Like a linebacker on the football field, Pena tackled the man who was looking through her daughter’s window. The whole thing was captured on police dash cam.

“My kids are my life [and] I’m just making sure I protect them,” Pena said.
Fortunately, her daughter was not in her room at the time of the incident.
After the tackle, the mother says, “The cop fist bumped me and said, ‘I heard the Texans are looking for a new linebacker.’”
Christian Texas momma, Beth Moore posted the news video on Twitter saying, “Texas moms. Don’t mess with us.”
