And it turns out all the speculators were RIGHT! This morning, the Royal Family announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are indeed expecting a baby in the spring. YAY!! Keep the royal good news coming, I say! The announcement said:
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.
Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.
Well, I, as a member of the public, am certainly happy to hear it! Since the baby is due in the spring, I doubt the Duchess of Sussex is more than twelve or so weeks along, so there probably wasn’t much of a baby bump to hide under the coat dress in question, but it was rather nice of them to give Princess Eugenie the spotlight and wait til after her wedding to drop their fantastic news.
The news also dropped on the day the Duke and Duchess of Sussex start their first royal tour as a couple—of Australia! You can bet the Aussies are going crazy over the big baby news, too. As a royal tour can be long and grueling, I certainly hope Meghan has the opportunity to rest, and that she is over any morning sickness she might have had. Ain’t no Duchess want to puke on camera for the world to see, am I right?
I for one, as an American, am super excited to have a little half-American royal on the way! Even though the baby will only be seventh in line to the throne, I think every little life is worth fussing over, and with such beautiful parents, I personally can’t wait to see what he or she looks like. Best wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the whole royal family on their new arrival!
