5 Effective Workouts to Help Boost Your Energy

boost your energy

Moms are always on the go, we are exhausted and our plates are always full. As a mom, it might seem like you rarely have time for yourself. What can you do for you? Are there tips to boost your energy levels?

Guess what, you don’t suffer alone. There are moms all over the world that understand being a mom is tiring and it is time to band together and share information. One of the best things a mom can do while making time for herself is to slip a workout into her schedule. It does not have to be a long or intense workout.

There are many different types of workouts that you can add to your day that are reasonable lengths of time and will give you just the energy boost you need to survive and thrive. We’re going to share with you the top 5 effective workouts that will boost your energy and keep you going while you’re doing all of the “mom things”.

5 Effective Workouts to Help Boost Your Energy

1. Walking or Jogging

There is something calming and mind-clearing about going for a walk or a jog. If you find it hard to escape the house to walk or jog, don’t be afraid to jump on a treadmill and blast some music or turn on a podcast. Take the time for yourself and unplug (as much as possible) from the world around you.

We highly recommend that you take your walking or jogging outside or to an area outside of your home. At home, it is sometimes far too easy to become distracted by the things around you – like that pile of laundry in the corner or those dishes on the counter, what should you make for dinner, and oh little Susie has that project due.

You can spare 30 minutes to literally walk away from the chaos and get your body moving. Walks are refreshing and you will be amazed at how clear your mind feels and how you feel energized when your walking or jogging routine is complete.

2. Daily Bicycling Routine

If you enjoy the scenery and want a relaxing option that will give you the perfect short workout and boost your energy, try adding 30 minutes of cycling per day to your routine. Jump on your bicycle and hit the streets or trails and an affordable hybrid bike is a great way to experience the real fun of bike riding.

The bicycle ride is also a great way to clear your mind and ease your thoughts. You can just let go of busy mom schedule for about 30 minutes and enjoy the scenery from the seat of your bicycle. It’s very important to just take the time for yourself.

A daily bike-riding routine allows you to change up your routes and not get bored with the workout. Your energy levels will be greatly improved and you will most likely notice that you feel more at ease when you are finished. It’s amazing what a quick and enjoyable workout can do for the body.

3. Yoga, Pilates, or Stretching

Yoga and Pilates are stretch and balance based workouts that are designed to clear your mind while also giving you a low-to-moderate based workout. These workouts are not super intense but can do a great deal of restoration for the mind and body both.

The greatest thing about taking on Yoga, Pilates, or another stretch-based workout is that you will notice the energy boost, but you will also be aware of posture and you will feel a clearing of the mental fog that tends to envelop everyone as they move about their busy lives, particularly moms.

Mother’s jobs are no joke, it’s important to take care of your mind and body while you’re taking care of those around you as well. Make the time to go to a class and meet other moms who are most likely struggling with many of the same things as you are.

If you simply can’t bring yourself to take a class, there are many online and video-based resources for doing Yoga or Pilates as home and enjoying that energy boost.

4. Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a moderate level workout that you can form the intensity to your needs and abilities. Kickboxing is a great way to punch out some aggression but also to boost your energy levels. If you’re not a fan of workout routines, you should definitely give kickboxing a try.

You might find that even though you don’t typically enjoy working out, you will notice that you enjoy what kickboxing has to offer. You will feel better with the energy boosts and released tension or stress. Kickboxing workouts are a great workout that can be personalized in intensity levels.

We recommend joining a class to fellowship with other moms and give yourself a form of socialization.

5. HIIT Training

HIIT Training (also known as high-intensity interval training) is a short workout performed at maximum intensity. It is guaranteed to give you a full sweaty workout which leads to an energy boost for that mom life.

HIIT training is designed to alternate short periods of intense moves with active recovery periods. You rotate through a timeframe of working at maximum output through intense moves that get your blood flowing, heart pumping, and breathing heavy. You follow each intense period with a recovery period that is active with less intense movement.

Workouts of any kind will boost your energy levels, but as a mom, you need something to get the job done quickly. Try HIIT training and you will be impressed with the results and with your efforts!

Take action, Mama

Stop using time as an excuse and make time to take care of yourself. Self-care as a mom is so important for you to be able to continue being the best mom you can be. Being a mom is one of the most challenging and also one of the most rewarding jobs you could ever have.

You can’t forget that you need to remember to take care of yourself. Scheduling 30 minutes to an hour of time to work on you will make a significant difference in how you feel and how you can function for others.
