Teen Jumps In to Protect Girl From ‘Pervert’ at Target, Becomes a Real Life Hero

16-year-old Cameron Cook was doing what every teenage boy dreams of—shopping with him mom at Target—(I’m kidding!)—when he spotted a man acting suspiciously. He had what Cook describes as a “demonic look” in his eye that made Cook very uncomfortable, so he kept his eye on the man, who appeared to be fixated on a little girl pushing a shopping cart nearby. Then, he said, “I seen the guy grabbing himself, and my mom goes, ‘Cam let’s go, keep walking,’ I was like, no, something’s going on.”

“I was close enough that I could smell the liquor coming from his mouth,” Cameron’s mother, Heather Cook told CBS Boston. “It was horrible.”

It’s a good thing Cameron resisted his mom’s flight instinct, because just seconds later, Cameron saw the man thrusting himself up against the confused young girl. Without a second thought, the teen immediately jumped in between them.

“So I went up to him, I was like, ‘Excuse me sir, do you know her?’ And then the first thing he said was, ‘I’m not a pervert, I’m not a pervert.’ I was like, I didn’t ask you that sir,” said Cameron.

Cameron’s proud mom says her son did not hesitate. “He was big, and Cameron had no fear at all,”she said. “He just stood firm on the fact that he knew what this man was doing was wrong.”
