Indiana Couple Welcomes Twins Born in Different Decades

It’s one thing for twins to be born on different days. But different decades? Now that’s a story for the books! And one that Dawn Gilliam and Jason Tello will be telling for the rest of their lives.

The Indiana couple is making headlines this week after their twins, Joselyn and Jaxon were born 30 minutes apart — in different decades.

Joslyn Grace was born on December 31, 2019 at 11:37pm. She was the very last baby to be born at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel hospital in 2019. Her twin brother Jaxon was born 30 minutes later, making his arrival at 12:07am on January 1, 2020. He was the first baby to be born at the hospital in 2020.

“Everyone in the delivery room was so excited,” Gilliam, 36, told TODAY. “It’s pretty awesome.”

The twins have joined older siblings Gabryel (5) and James (10) and are already full of their very own personalities.

“She won’t hold my finger, but she will grip onto Jason’s,” Gilliam said of Joslyn who is a total daddy’s girl. “The other day, when I was holding her, she opened her eyes, squinted really hard and then shut them. I gave her back to Jason and she was happy again.”

Jaxon, on the other hand, is all about his mama.

“Jaxon won’t grip onto Jason’s finger, but he will mine,” Gilliam told TODAY.

Joslyn and Jaxon, who were born weighing 4 pounds, 11 ounces, and 4 pounds, 7 ounces, respectively, are expected to remain in the hospital until their Feb. 19 due date.

One thing is for sure, these two have one very special story to tell!
