In a world where we talk a LOT about how important it is to build confidence in our girls, this video of dads actually DOING something about it is beyond inspiring. I’ve heard or read once or twice about parents speaking truth to their kids while they both face a mirror, and having the child repeat it. Just recently, when my youngest was lacking confidence at school, I started doing this with him. And it has worked SO well. Not only does he enjoy this activity, but his anxiety about school has greatly decreased and I am getting positive reports from his teacher, too.
But back to dads and daughters! Psychology has told us time and again how important it is for a girl to have a loving father in her life. I know my life would be only a shadow of what it is without the great dad I was blessed with. What these dads are doing for their girls by speaking truth and love to them, by taking the time to affirm their unconditional love for and belief in their daughters will have amazing benefits that will surely last a lifetime.
