Nechole Crowell was driving down the road in Marion County, Florida this week when she realized her 3-month-old son, Kingston, didn’t seem right. The panicked mom realized her child was unresponsive and she could not tell he was breathing. Desperate, the frightened mom thankfully spotted a police car at the intersection she was at and got the attention of off duty police officer Jeremie Nix. Nix turned his patrol car around, doubling back to Crowell’s location quickly, and sprung into action.

When Officer Nix arrived at her side, Crowell told WESH 2 News, I just kind of panicked and started crying and I was just like tell me that he is breathing.”
Jeremie Nix quickly performed “several lifesaving measures on the child” but could tell that would not be enough, that Kingston desperately needed to be at the hospital. Because Nix was so close to a local hospital, he opted not to wait for medics to arrive. He called out to Crowell to follow him to Ocala Regional Medical Center, put baby Kingston in his car, and drove him there, patrol car sirens wailing.
The video recorded by Officer Nix’s dash cam shows both his efforts to save Kingston and his dash to the hospital.
