If you live with small humans under the age of 4, there’s a good chance that YouTube sensation, Ms. Rachel, has become an extended part of your family. The “Songs For Littles” star has taken the internet by storm and has given children—and parents—something to talk about.

A celebrity to toddlers, and a hero to many parents, Ms. Rachel has risen to popularity for her low-tech, educational show for babies and toddlers that is being praised by educators and those in the speech and language communities.

But who is Ms. Rachel? And why is she winning the hearts of children and parents alike?

Who is Ms. Rachel?

Rachel Griffin Accurso, known online as Ms. Rachel, is a New York City preschool teacher turned YouTube and TikTok star who creates educational videos for children. But more than that, her videos—and the intentionality behind them—are having a massive impact on kids all over the world.

Accurso began “Songs For Littles” after her son, Thomas, was diagnosed with a speech delay. His first word was at 2 years and 8 months old.

“I needed experts to help me,” she told NBC News. “I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if there was a show that really encouraged language development and worked on these important milestones and was slow-paced and a real person and very interactive?'”
