Having a Teen Jump Starts Your Prayer Life: 4 Prayers For Our Daughters

Oh mothers, what a privilege we have to raise our daughters for God’s glory. Although raising them is no small feat today, it is possible through 4 prayers for our daughters.

When our daughter turned 16 this year, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I realized the importance of a mother’s prayer for their daughters.

There is so much demanding their attention. From; make-up, boys, the way they dress, peer pressure, the comparisons of their bodies, and the drama with girlfriends. Enough for any mother to wonder; oh Lord, what do I do?

Well, at least that was me.

As a woman, I personally understand the struggle to all these things, and I’m an adult. I can only imagine the pressure on our precious daughters, growing up pursing their teenage or young adult years.

However, I recognized walking my daughter through these things, was going to take some training, patience, and some prayers on my part.

“Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. 4 These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, 5 to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.” ~ Titus 2: 3-5 (AMPC)

4 Prayers For Our Daughters

God has been dealing with me for a while on this. As much as I try to be the example and teach her the WAY she should go; I realized the older she gets the more I have to trust her into the hands of our Heavenly Father.

There are 4 areas the Holy Spirit convicted my heart to pray for; her heart, her love for God, her love for others and the love for herself.

“And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your  life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. This is the first and principal commandment.”~ Mark 12:30 (AMPC)
