Mom’s Brutally Honest Post-C-Section Selfie Proves It’s Not the ‘Easy Way Out’

It’s a misconception or dare I say, judgment, that I hear all the time in the mom community. That giving birth via cesarian section is the “easy way out.”

Right. Because any form of giving birth is “easy.” Come on people.

Well one mama is not having any of that junk, and we are SO here for it.

After giving birth to her second child via C-section, Olivia White took to Instagram with a brutally honest post defending her method of BIRTHING A HUMAN.

“Look I know it might not be my best angle (or is it?),” she wrote along with a picture of her freshly stitched C-section incision.

“But who wouldn’t take selfies hours post birth so they can see where they sliced you open and yanked out a whole person (if you couldn’t tell I still couldn’t see past my still inflated uterus)This is what you really look like a few hours post c-section.”

Her photo is proof that bringing another human into the world is going to hurt — no matter how (or where!) you slice it.

“To anyone who thinks it’s the easy way out, well try having a 6 inch gash in your abdomen like a gutted shark who had the body parts of the surfer it ate retrieved! That’s then sewn back together with fishing wire while it feels like your vital organs are trying to escape,” she writes.

“I mean sure, everything is [rainbows] and [lollipops] till the spinal wears off! After that it’s like you’ve been hit by a bus  which then backed over you just to make sure it didn’t miss you the first time!”

Making light of the misery that is C-section recovery, the Instagram influencer is brutally honest about how painful it is to even wear underwear that could come in contact with her scar.

“And worst of all, you’ll feel as if you’ll spend your entire life wearing nanna knickers up around your waist because the thought of anything settling in the canyon between your gut and pubic region is the stuff nightmares are made of.”
