The most decorated female U.S. tennis player, Serena Williams, is pregnant with her third child with her husband and Reddit co-creator, Alexis Ohanian. The powerhouse couple kept things simple as they shared the news with their older daughter, Olympia.

As part of her series, “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” Williams shared a simple, private, and life-changing moment for their family. Williams was about to tell her oldest daughter, Olympia that she was about to be a big sister—again.

After Olympia was over-the-top excited at the news of the arrival of her younger sister, Adira, Williams and Ohanian were optimistic that she’d react similarly to the news of their third child.
In an adorable video, the parents casually sat down on their couch to share their excitement with Olympia. Willams lifted her blue T-shirt and patted her stomach while Ohanian said, “You’re going to be a bit sister!”
Olympia jumped up and down—screaming in excitement. As she runs around the room in glee, her parents exchange looks and laugh.
The sweet moment was shared as part of her ESPN+ show, “In the Arena: Serena Williams.” After the pregnancy announcement, the clip ended with a formal family photo with Ohanian, Willams, and their two daughters—Olympia and Adira.
Big sister Olympia was born in 2017, and Adira made her entrance in 2023—after Willams announced taking a break from tennis and “focusing on her family. Adira turned one earlier this year, and Williams continues to share the joy of motherhood on Instagram. She shared, “A year ago today – August 15th – I gave birth to my second baby girl, Adira River Ohanian. She is a true light.”
“Olympia is always there for me,” Williams shared. “Before having a second child, I always wondered, ‘how could I love anything as much as I love @olympiaohanian?'”
Williams continued to reflect, “Then Adira came along … she is so special, so fun, so funny, so loving, so sweet and so strong!!! You see, God makes your heart get bigger. Because my love for Olympia has not dimmed. My heart simply now is doubled the size and I have a greater capacity to love more!”
Proud dad Ohanian said after Adira was born, “I’ll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
Williams is more active as a mom than on the tennis courts. “Obviously, (with) tennis, I was playing Wimbledons and stuff. But, as a mom, I’m gone all day,” she said, mentioning her volunteer work at her daughter’s school.
The family of five expects to be even busier as they welcome the new little one and navigate the developing interests of each member of the family.
