Racial Reconciliation Is Holy Work—My Family Is Proof

He would carry a copy of my first book in his pants, & would pull it out for strangers. “This was written by my granddaughter!” He’d say beaming.

My parents have now been married 39 years and have exemplified for me what a marriage should be. My dad will tell you today that my grandpa became a father to him. They loved each other.

Grace in this journey toward racial reconciliation will be crucial. It is holy work.
