Accurso, who has a master’s degree in music education from New York University and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in early childhood education, has done her research when it comes to young children.
“Anything that’s gonna help a young child succeed is hidden in the videos,” she says.
But Ms. Rachel doesn’t stop helping there! Her TikTok is used to connect with mom and dad.
In what she calls “Ms. Rachel for Grown-Ups,” Accurso often talks about mental health, and offers a compassionate “I see you” for the parents in the weeds right alongside her.

In fact, not only does she “check-in” on parents, she sings to them too! Not about “waving waving waving,” or “icky sticky sticky sticky bubble gum,” but rather, about the very real and very hard things that we often struggle to talk about.
Accurso is open about her struggles with anxiety and OCD, as well as all-too relatable affirmations for the parents who doubt what they’re doing—all of us.
